Hi there! I was just wondering what would you recommend for me. I'm looking for a Stephen King novel similar to the Towers series. This is a surprise gift to my best friend, whom I have grown very distant from in the last year. I wanted to surprise her with a novel for Christmas and have no clue which one to get her. She's a Stephen King fan and a total horror fan. I don't plan on getting her the obvious classics like It, Pet Cemetery, Misery, or Carrie and such. If you have any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate the feedback.
Also, I was just wondering if Cell would be a good option. It sounds interesting enough, so if you've read that, would you recommend it? Why or why not?

I'm open to anything as long as it isn't some sort of sappy, hopeless romantic book or anything. A quick recap'd be good too.

My dad and I are both big readers and every year for his birthday I get him a new book.
Well, I have no idea what to get him this year. He loves autobiographies and biographies, books about presidents (like that Carl Sandburg book about Abe Lincoln) and history. He also really loved that series that Master & Commander was based on (I can't believe I can't think of that authors name right now, it just has seriously escaped me)

Suggestions please!

when u read the book and you see the movie does it disappoint you because what u imaged/pictured in the book is completely different in the movie.....?
for ex.... in the 5th movie i pictured the ministry of magic diiferent then what it was in the movie, then it destoryed my image from when reading it...

and also have u guys noticed that in the movie neville does what dobby does in the book
ex... dobby gave harry the gillyweed in the 4th book, but in the movie it was neville
ex... dobby found the room of requirement but in the movie it was neville...

and one last question:
do u like the movies or books better?

I am only 16, my english is not amazing, I hardly ever read.

Yet i have these random sparks of writing spurges, and i feel i want to start writing really soon just incase i miss any experiences that could potentially add up to make an okay novel. :D

So, I have this essay due tomorrow. It's actually on the chapter "A Pair of Tickets" out of the book. I wrote the analysis part of it but now I'm trying to add in the research and I'm kind of "stuck." I wrote about how "when relationships in the family change then an individual is bound to change." I haven't found much support for that except between mother and daughter. Any advice on how to expand my information or any links to analysis critics on this book and/or on family changes would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have a timeline on the Scarlet Pimpernel due and I'm a slow reader, I found a timeline online with dates but I need someone to tell me if these specifics are in the book.

1791-August: Formation of the League of the Scarlet Pimpernel; all members swear secrecy and obedience to Sir Percy Blakeney. Training begins.

1794-January: League of the Scarlet Pimpernel rescues the Dauphin. He goes into unrecorded exile in Brussels

Augest: League of the Scarlet Pimpernel lies dormant.

1795-February: In reaction to the White Terror, the League resumes activities.

Don't tell me I need to read this myself, I only had three days to read it and I can't finish it in time.
