and also have u guys noticed that in the movie neville does what dobby does in the book
ex... dobby gave harry the gillyweed in the 4th book, but in the movie it was neville
ex... dobby found the room of requirement but in the movie it was neville...

The books are so much better. I think that they are more exciting then the movies. I did not picture the Ministry of magic like that...Now I always see it how it is in the movie. The movies were good but they sometimes ruined my perception of the books. How hard is it to give Harry Potter green eyes? contacts! There is also so much that could have gone into the movies...

They are on two different levels, the movies cant follow the books exactly or else they would be 6 hours long each. And in order to make the movie make sense some things from the plot need to be changed. Otherwise the changes to the plot would change the whole story. And the dobby thing, it's gonna cost way more money to have to have a computer generated house elf for something as simple as handing harry gillyweed as apposed to having neville do it. So I'm sure the movie company wants to save money.

So if you're going to compare the two (books and movies) the books are better because there are more detail to certain things and more action, BUT if you think of them on different terms the movies are freakin awesome also.

The books are so well written that each time I read them I have a renewal of the same intense feelings I got the first time I read the books. I cry and scream I cheer. The movies are good but they drive me rather crazy because so much stuff that is really rather relevant has been taken out of the movies. I mean the fifth book was the longest and yet it was the shortest movie. Definatley backwards. And for me nothing competes with the images I get in my own head when I read the books. And I am most definately not pro movies after the news was released that the funeral won't be in the sixth movie. (I don't know if you know who dies so I won't spill any more) That definately got the movie study on my bad side but I've always preferred the books over the movies anyway. If I had an option to just watch the movies or to just read the books I'd say read the books. They are so intricately written to and everything is relevant and so emotionally gripping.

I wish they would just make the movie to go along with the plot of the story. True, it would be a really long movie, but I don't think many fans would be disappointed with that. I assume they re-write due to budget/time restraints more than anything.

They both are great for their own reasons, but obviously the books are better. Your imagination can take you places that Hollywood can't. (I think the soundtracks are great though!)

I like the books better, but the movies are great too! I hate that they change so much but they can't put in everything or the movies would be extremely long and they have a budget they have to keep too.

i am always soooo disappointed in the movies, the 5th was awful (the 1st 2 were good, but then they just went down the drain). i am a major harry potter fan and could rant forever, so I'm not going to start.

the books are better all the way. and yea it is kind of disappointing to see the movies after reading the books (especially the 5th one, i don't think they did near enough with Serious's death).

yes.i mean when harry found out that it was either kill or be killed, dumbledore was blunt with just 'yes'.no that did not happen in the book.

i miss dobby,i want more of him.and quidditch... :(

i dont know how rowling lets them get away with cutting out the important bits.even though it was not that interesting, hermione, ron and draco had to be seen to be prefects.and rons little owl, pig.

I definitely like the books better, because the directors obviously cant understand what J.K has been writing and have a lack of imagination.
