Are there any existing and easily-accessed pieces written by a person (preferably somewhat well-known) with a mental handicap, especially diary entries/journal logs? If so, where can I find them? (websites + books + magazines)

Thanks.

I also read this in 6th grade. It was about these 2 friends who were biking and they decided to go swimming across a fast-moving river. Well they start and the one boy turns around and his best friend was just gone.

It turns out that he couldn't swim or something and he drowned, and his friend was so eaten up with guilt that he went home and didn't say anything to anyone. Also he kept smelling the river on himself, even after repeated showers.

It was about (I think) this boy whose 3yr old sister went missing during a family outing and everyone thought that she had drowned. But then the boy began to think that she was kidnapped and tried to track her down.

He ended up flying to Florida I think to find her. It turned out that someone HAD kidnapped her and dyed/cut her hair. He ended up rescuing her, even after one of the kidnappers went after him with a gun.

I think the boy was like thirteen or so in the book, but I'm not sure.

If this sounds familiar please respond! =D

What symbol is good symbol for a book about a person who changes the way they look, act and do things just to be more spontaneous and unpredictable? A picture that would sum this all up in one or two images.

All answers are greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I'm writing an essay on the motif of the poisoning of the state in Shakespeare's Hamlet.

I can't think of what this concept is called:
If the King is good, then prosperity will permeate the kingdom, but if the king is corrupt, then his corruption with permeate throughout the kingdom.

What is that concept called? It isn't the "divine right of kings" or the "wheel of fortune" is it?

Which Lord of the Rings character is your favorite, and why?
If you just have one favorite, or maybe more. Be sure to tell which ones they are, and why they're your favorite(s). They can either be from the books, or the movies.
Here's a majority of the characters...

Aragorn
Arwen
Eomer
Eowyn
Faramir
Boromir
Denethor
Theoden
Legolas
Gimli
Gandalf
Frodo
Sam
Merry
Pippin
Bilbo
Haldir
Galadriel
Celeborn
Elrond
Treebeard
Saruman
Ringwraiths/Nazgul
Sauron
Grima
Gollum

I don't think I left out anyone...But if you have any other favorite characters, feel free to post an answer about them too.

I read this book as a child about a girl who would pick flowers in the woods and was lured by a giant wolf deeper into the woods where "the prettier flowers" were. This was an old book, and I would like to find it for my young sister and brother.

I've read most of Dostoyevsky's great novels and am currently enjoying Gogol's tales. Find the sheer size of Tolstoy's books a bit daunting. Had a Nabokov phase 15 years ago...

Hello there, I am looking for a great fiction book that I could read. I don't want just any book, I would like a book that is possibly high level, the reason being, I want to improve my writing skills (punctuation, outline, etc).

Here are some of the genres I like in books; Drama, Mystery, Horror, Teen (if it high leveled), Eating (as in people with eating disorders, over weight, etc), and some books with a little bit of romance in it.

Thank you!

(By the way, I am a 16 year old male)
