If people use fanfiction.net to write their own stories, and maybe even get them published, then wouldn't they be plagerizing (spelling?) if they used an author's characters??? Even if they gave a disclaimer, it still wouldn't be their work/story would it?

I want to learn how to write childrens books by going to writing school and I am already 29 yrs. old . Is it easier for me to write childrens novels rather than writing adult and teen books. I can be a writer at any age right? Where do the writers get their characters and how they make up their names?

Just reading another question regarding Stephen King and someone responded saying that his writing style changed after the accident. I think it changed slightly before - he became focused on stories involving individuals - and is a result of his style evolving with age and experience and maybe a desire to try something different. What do you think?

I got the book "At First Sight" before I knew it was a continuation of another book and I am curious if I should get "True Believer" and read it first. Seeing as how "At First Sight" picks up two weeks after "True Believer" leaves off. I read online the jacket of "True Believer" and I'm not as interested in it as I am " At First Sight". I will probably read "True Believer" if I like "At First Sight", but does it matter which order I go in. Thank You, sorry my question is so long.

Besides keeping a list, that is? Do you ask for a book back within a certain period of time? I still mourn over some books and audiobooks I have lent out to friends, who keep promising to get them back to me (one has had my favorite audiobook for 8 years and I honestly think she no longer has the item). I no longer loan books---but was wondering how you handle your book lending. Thanks.

I've just finished the book. It's absolutely riveting. Has anyone researched any of the chimps the Jennie character was based upon? Find anything interesting?
