What are the different shades of love?

Things that you have read in literature or have experienced in real life. Talk deep. Go beyond and come up with something profound. Why are some love relationships twisted? For example, she did not love him even though he loved her because he was a mirror image of herself, the person she hated.

I've checked some sites but am still unaware of any projected date for the conclusion of this fantastic series. It rivals LOTR IMHO.

I'm trying to find a play (to read) that a friend performed a long time ago. it was about satan/ the devil being on trial for leaving heaven, stealing souls, etc. for some reason I had "The Trial" by Kafka in my head but that's obviously not it now that i'm 60 pages into it lol. Anybody know what play or book this might be? thanks!

I've been thinking about writing some short stories. would it be cool if i wrote about some of the things that have happened to me, but use different characters/names? Or should i go with some off the wall ideas i have? Which kind of story do you like best (probably no horror). Thanks for your help!!

I had a book when I was younger, second hand and old, I'm not sure if it was of the Pan books of horror but was similar, on the front there was a photograph of a pretty lady holding a candlestick!! All I remember!! Have looked on the net but to no avail.

I have an odd question. I'm looking for a book that my mother read to me when I was a child.

It's about a crippled, poor kid and it takes place both in the 'real' world and in his 'dream world', where he is a perfectly healthy boy. I remember an instance where he meets one of the people he knows in his dream, and they don't recognize him because he is crippled in the 'real world'. Sorry, it's an odd question, I know. I think it could be Charles Dickens, but I might be mistaken.

I do remember that i it has that old "18-19th century England" feel to it.

Do you guys know of any books (or movies) about todays issues (such as love/sex/rape/abuse) where the main character is a boy? I'm sick of reading about these issues involving girls. Girls aren't the only ones that get raped and cut themselves.
And if it's about love, do you know of any one sided, boyxboy stuff?
Thanks!

One of my favorite things about the books is how Jo puts in subtle details that we find out about later on.. ex. the locket that they found in grimmauld place and how we find out in HBP it might be a horcrux

Did anyone else catch other little clues like that, that people might have missed reading the first time around?

This is a semi-sarcastic question I guess. I think the whole Harry phenomenon was great for the reading community in general. However “Harry Potter” seems to be the answer to half the questions posted hear concerning what to read.

So here’s the question. Besides JKR what three authors do you think have had the biggest impact on the reading community in the last 20 years. Who’s picking up the torch and saying ‘yes –it is awesome to read and write’…

So, list three books that are impossible to put down, the kind you zip through because they're that interesting, and then name what you feel are the three best books ever written. :)

It may be "Into the woods". Not sure. This youngster leaves the midwest and heads north into the woods. He's either going to Alaska or Canada. He keeps a diary and this is supposedly the book itself. I guess he dies out there and he finds a bus in the middle of nowhere that becomes his home. This is all I remember.
