I had a book when I was younger, second hand and old, I'm not sure if it was of the Pan books of horror but was similar, on the front there was a photograph of a pretty lady holding a candlestick!! All I remember!! Have looked on the net but to no avail.

Jude, you may want to try the following website: http://whatsthatbook.com/

It's a neat little website. You give them as much info as you have on the book you're looking for, and they'll do their best to find the title for you. Try them, they're totally free!

Good luck and happy reading! :-)

Yeah, the problem is with old books, that when they republish them they change the covers so it's almost impossible to find the book, based on the cover. Plus, doing a search on pan books ends up with too many Peter Pans ,,, not what you are looking for, not at all.
