Do you guys know of any books (or movies) about todays issues (such as love/sex/rape/abuse) where the main character is a boy? I'm sick of reading about these issues involving girls. Girls aren't the only ones that get raped and cut themselves.
And if it's about love, do you know of any one sided, boyxboy stuff?
Thanks!

There's a very good book called "Twisted" by Laurie Halse Anderson, in which a boy deals with depression because he feels like no one understands him. It also has some humor to it, from making the book too boring and depressing. I highly recommend it.
There's also a book called "Boy meets Boy" by David Levithan. I have not read it, but i have read other books by the author which i have enjoyed. Like "Marly's Ghost", which is about a guy being depresed because his girlfriend dies. Very sad and deep, if that's what you're looking for.
I totally agree that girls aren't the only ones with issues. It's interesting to read the guy's point of view, too.

Always Running by Luis J. Rodriguez is pretty good book it deals with being in a gang. The Concrete Garden talks about incests. The Infinite Plan is a book about a man who grows up in poverty. That's all I can think of right now. Hope this helps.
