Any tips on how to tell a good personal story, like in one-on-one conversations? (Not a practiced, memorized story to a group but more spur of the moment)

Has anyone read the entire DT series? I just finished the Gunslinger and just started the Drawing of Three. It wasn't my favorite of King's work but would like to know if continuing with the rest of the books is worth it?

I enjoy writing children's stories (like the storybooks with apx.8 sentences per page with an illustration) and was wondering what the process is to publish. Also, I do not illustrate, so I do not have drawings to submit with the story, so in that case, how would you present your manuscript (formating, etc.)?

This is going to sound so weird but these are the things I remember about this book. Keep in mind it's been nearly 20 years since I last saw it. It was a soft cover but large. It was about a little doll and a teddy bear. It was actual pictures rather than drawings. They were like the adult lady's children. They made a day of getting into stuff. Like dressing up in the mothers clothing, putting on her make up and stuff like that. I remember them getting a spanking, and that's about it. It was such a facinating book because it looked so real since it was real photos and not drawings. I really want to bring this book in to my home for my two young daughters but kind anything like it for the life of me. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I really need some help here please... I need to find a qoute and a page number for the following catagories of comedy:
1. Burlesque- treating a serious subject in a vulgar slapstick manner
2. Stereotype- a composite treatment of a known type of character
3. Verbal Irony- character says one thing but means another
4. Situational Irony-descrepancy between the expected results and what happens
5. Tall Tales- exaggerated false stories....
All I need is the page number and where the line starts... This would really help me out. Please help me!!

He looks around the scene,
Then back to me;
He looks around the scene,
Then back to me.
He doesn't know what to think
Of the people around us,
The cool blues and greens
Contrasting on their pale skin,
He observes my own clothing,
Warm and bright.
"Well, it doesn't matter," he says,
"You always did look good in red."

Constructive criticism welcome.

I have been reading alot of high fantasy for a while, I started with alot of D and D books, dragonlance, and moved into more mature novels as I got older.

My question is this though, is there any novel, or series, where at the end, the bad guys just win. Or for that matter a fantasy book where story is based around or told thru the eyes of the "evil" side instead of the good side. Not looking for spoilers just be nice to mix it up a bit.

I've read everything I have in my book collection. The last things I've read were books by both Augusten Burroughs and David Sedaris. I need some suggestions on what to read next. I'm looking for something that's light and funny.
