Has anyone read the entire DT series? I just finished the Gunslinger and just started the Drawing of Three. It wasn't my favorite of King's work but would like to know if continuing with the rest of the books is worth it?

The first time I tried to read the series I slogged through the first book & gave up on the second. I picked them up again after about 3 years & absolutely loved them (still have to read the last 2)! It may just be something you are not currently into. Give it some time but do try again - they are worth it. Stephen King is one of my favorite current writers.

The Dark Tower is great, not perfect, but it's good and worth a read, especially if you're already on number 2.

I started Gunslinger and had to give it up. Just didn't make any sense to me. Stephen King can write rubbish too.

All I know is that even though he is still alive the first book in the series in excellent condition, first edition, first printing is selling on ebay at better than $350. Or was until recently.

Yeah, I've read them. I don't think they're his best work, but they're still good and better than a lot of other books of that type out on the market.
