Has anyone read this book? Did the exercises work for you and if they did, which specific ones did you use? How long did it take your eyes to improve, and what was the difference in you prescription?

This is a story I am writing and i was wondering if it is a good idea.

15-year-old Charlotte sees her mother killed and is forced to live with her aunt and cousin, Brooke. Brooke is the same age and hopelessly in love with the most popular guy in school. The only problem is that she is a nerd and thinks that he doesn't even know that she exists. When Charlotte comes to live with them, she too falls for Tyler, and he asks her out. Furious, Brooke takes revenge on her cousin. They take turns plotting revenge plot after revenge plot. Then they learn that they are in debt and the house they live in is going to be taken away. They have to join together to save their house, and ignore all their differences.

I'm at a complete loss for what to ask concering Chillingworth's example of immorality and morality in The Scarlet Letter. The one question I do have though is this:

What is the one good thing Chillingworth did?

Can anyone help me think of more discussion questions?

I read about a book called "Occupations in America" in my sons social studies book yesterday and was wondering if they still sold it. The book is a school textbook, so of course it's nearly 10 years old. If there isn't such a book, is there another compatible book? Any help appreciated!

i am reading this for my Heroes and Villains class and i dont know what AOI means :
1
Charles the king, our mighty emperor,
has been in Spain for all of seven years,
has won that haughty land down to the sea.
There is no castle still opposing him,
nor town or wall remaining to be be crushed,
except the mountain city, Saragossa.
Marsilla holds it; he does not love God,
but serves Mohammed and invokes Apollo.
No matter what he does, his ruin wil come. AOI

it comes up very often too and i really dont know what it stands for. any insight would be VERY helpful!

o.k. some of you will hate it and say it's crap, but I thought it was funny.

Laziness

This rope that ties me down,
It won't let me go.
What I long to do,
I cannot do, for it is holding me still...
When will I be able to break through,
do what I want and to go where I please?

A man and a woman sit near each other, and they do
not long
at this moment to be older, or younger, nor born
in any other nation, or time, or place.
They are content to be where they are, talking or
not-talking.
Their breaths together feed someone whom we do
not know.
The man sees the way his fingers move;
he sees her hands close around a book she hands
to him.
They obey a third body that they share in common.
They have made a promise to love that body.
Age may come, parting may come, death will come.
A man and a woman sit near each other;
as they breathe they feed someone we do not know,
someone we know of, whom we have never seen.

Lately, I've become accustomed to the way
The ground opens up and envelopes me
Each time I go out to walk the dog.
Or the broad edged silly music the wind
Makes when I run for a bus...

Things have come to that.

And now, each night I count the stars.
And each night I get the same number.
And when they will not come to be counted,
I count the holes they leave.

Nobody sings anymore.

And then last night I tiptoed up
To my daughter's room and heard her
Talking to someone, and when I opened
The door, there was no one there...
Only she on her knees, peeking into

Her own clasped hands

Richard paced through the throne room as his wife laid in bed giving birth to their first child. The pacing made him even more worried about the troubles of the kingdom, barbaric troops led by the infamous Alaric Garrison tore through the once unified kingdom. In time, Garrison’s forces would come to the heart of the kingdom and the weakened English forces would lose leaving the kingdom on its knees.

"Sea-Fever"

I must down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by,
And the wheel's kick and the wind's song and the white sail's shaking,
And a grey mist on the sea's face, and a grey dawn breaking.

I must down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.

I must down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life,
To the gull's way and the whale's way where the wind's like a whetted knife;
And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover
And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick's over.

can someone tell me what each paragraph is talking about and whats the theme....THIS IS NOT HOMEWORK!!
