I read about a book called "Occupations in America" in my sons social studies book yesterday and was wondering if they still sold it. The book is a school textbook, so of course it's nearly 10 years old. If there isn't such a book, is there another compatible book? Any help appreciated!

I am not sure of any books. But if you are looking for info. on different careers the website for College board. (www.collegeboard.com/apps/careers/ )
is really helpful. They also discuss careers realistically for students, what classes they should enjoy, what to expect in the career as well as in the major. Wish it was around when I was looking at majors. Hope this helps.

The Department of Labor has an Occupational Handbook that lists all the different types of jobs, the average salaries, the outlook of the job, job descriptions, etc. It's helpful for considering different careers and is up to date (better than a 10 year old textbook.) And it's online and free.
