I need to know what amount of money is paid to a first time author of a category romance. ie Heartsong Presents.
Is it on a commision only basis or is there a flat amount plus a percentage of the profits? I am interested in a ballpark amount. I am writing one and I am curious about the money to be made.

...It seems as if they spend entire chapters describing the feasts, and they sound so delicious! Has anyone ever tried making some of the things mentioned in the books?

365 days have come and gone
still we're here without you
and it just feels so wrong.
it's like we're living in 2 worlds
here on earth, alone
and with you in heaven, that's home.
but we don't know how to get there just yet
because i guess our time's not through
just know that when we can
we'll find our way to you.
and tho we cried and couldn't understand
when the angels came for you
we soon found peace in god's promised plan
for the heaven he had in store for you.
see, god couldn't wait to take you home
to show you everything
you'd never known.
to watch you run
on streets of gold
to see you marvel
at things untold.
to watch you
sing, and laugh, and play
yes, god chose that special day.
and when OUR time is finished
and through;
just watch--
we'll be smiling as god brings us home,
To You......

Ok, I have a story idea, will you tell me if it is good, I have already wrote some of it...so here is the ..summary.
This young woman named Leandra, had just lost her boyfriend Shilah in death, she was in desperarte need of a new life, so she moved to the big apple, and gets a job, working as a part time nurse in Maddison Hospital, she soon realizes her boss Elliot is a jerk and a half. He is gorgeous and the bad thing is he knows it. Soon Elliot and Leandra, start getting closer to one another. At first it hurt leandra to be near this man, but now it seems it hurts more, to be without him, the only problem is he has a girlfriend, they soon break up, and it seems Leandra finally ha everything she wants, or does she?

So what do you think? Was it good? Tell me?

I am in LOVE with writing. Unfortunately, I am a business major. Should I give up a steady and well-paid job in the future on Wall Street for an insecure occupation as a writer, who teaches for a living? Is money worth it? I am one who hates math, and do not see myself forever in the business world. Yet, I am paying a large sum of money for school to do business. Is transfering to a creative writing major better for me? Or should I just stick it out in business, and hope that my dream job will take over some day?

I have heard that writers who concentrate too much on their works are at higher risks of developing Bipolar disorders than other kinds of artists. Is this true? If it is, how can you diagonise yourself?

it's depressing. i love Emperor Mage, it's my favorite, and you really wouldnt need too much background information on the characters in order to make the movie (in reference to the last similar question i posted, when i was asked which book is my favorite)

her husband is a movie director or something.... why wouldnt he bother making a movie? Eragon is being turned into a movie, and despite the book is okay, i think tamora pierce should have at least ONE of her books turned into a movie....

gah...............

Chapter 1: The Bad Day

You think you had a bad day? I’ve had worse. The worst day of my life began a day before it happened. I spilled glue all over myself and the table. And On top of that everyone laughed at me. I even heard the teacher laughing a bit. Now today everyone is mocking me. The teacher even gave me a glue stick with fear of me spilling the whole bottle of liquid glue on the table, again. I tried to tell her that it was an accident and that the glue lid wasn’t screwed on tight enough. After I told her that, she said, “Hana! That was the worst lie I’ve ever heard coming out of your mouth! I gave you that glue stick so that you can’t accidentally spill it all over the table.” Apparently she thought I was a trouble maker. I really am not. I’m just clumsy and quiet… mostly. About ten minutes after the argument I was told to stop killing my paper and to leave, because school was over. I was almost to my bus when two of the worst bullies in school walked right in

I need these translated into modern english but I don't really understand Shakespeare here are the quotes:
'Whether tis nobler in the mind to suffer The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune'

'Or to take arms against a sea of troubles And, by opposing, end them.'

'To die to sleep- no more---and by a sleep to say we end The heartache and the thousand natural shocks That flesh is heir to---'
'Tis a consummation Devoutly to be wished.'

'To die to sleep--to sleep perchance to dream. Ay, theres the rub For in that sleep of death what dreams may come, When we have shuffled off this mortal coil, must give us pause.'

'Theres the respect that makes calamity of so long life'

'For who would bear the whips and scorns of time'

'The oppressors wrng the proud mans contumely the pangs of despised lve, The laws delay, The insolence Office'

Ministers of religion like other men are subject to mass hysteria, and mass hysteria can be produced in a politically ignorant population whenever it is likely to further the interestes of important groups of rich men.
You will be induced to die quietly by being told that you are dying for a noble cause ,but you will really be dying to make certain rich and powerful men more rich and powerful
