This is a story I am writing and i was wondering if it is a good idea.
15-year-old Charlotte sees her mother killed and is forced to live with her aunt and cousin, Brooke. Brooke is the same age and hopelessly in love with the most popular guy in school. The only problem is that she is a nerd and thinks that he doesn't even know that she exists. When Charlotte comes to live with them, she too falls for Tyler, and he asks her out. Furious, Brooke takes revenge on her cousin. They take turns plotting revenge plot after revenge plot. Then they learn that they are in debt and the house they live in is going to be taken away. They have to join together to save their house, and ignore all their differences.

Is there a sub plot regarding mom's murder?

OMG! That is a great idea. I love to write stories too and boy does that captivate me! This will be one of those stories that teaches a life lesson and I guess it will be suspenseful too! Ok well I really want to see your story now! So write it good and who knows it could be in stores next may! lol Good luck.

sounds great, Tyler could also be turn out to be gay and only asked Charlotte to hid this. Or he could be in love with the aunt and you have to let him come up with the idea tha saves the house....have fun!

Does living with the cousins work to tell the story of her engagement with her new friends? People might wonder about the mothers murder.

That sounds like a great story. As a writer myself, I would have probably come up with a story like that. Good luck and hope to see it get published.
