In J.K.Rowling's site, when you enter her desk-top , there is always near the centre of the screen an option marked by a questionmark. If you click it you are transfered at the front of a door, which does not open. Does anyone knows how to open? Is there a secret that can be found? The site is www.jkrowling.com

I read it only yesterday. I loved it, though, frankly, I didn't expect to. I think it was the funniest and it made me cry. What did you think of it?

I am writing a book and wanted to know how to get feedback on my manuscript (that is, what I have written so far) without having to worry about someone stealing my idea. How is this possible?

I can't quite recall the name of a children's book. The story is about a young boy and girl who hide in a museum and live there for a year. They survive by taking pennies from the wishing fountain. I believe it's a well-known book. Does anyone know the title?

You dreamed a dream.

You release,
A feeling,
that you feel.

You show
your emotions,
Only if there real.

You ask,
a question,
is this really life?

You wait,
and see,
if you are really right.

You breathe,
A sigh
of frustration, but relief.

You see,
no hope
so your emotions are released.

You wait,
then sleep,
And let your feelings blow away.

You dreamed,
A dream,
And you felt less afraid.

You awoke,
and knew exactly,
what to do.

Never worry about a thing,
Cuz you'll be dreaming soon.

im writing a book just for my enjoyment about the life of a teen named anna and hel best briend emily. i cant decide on what the big conflict of my book should be. i dont want something really tragic or depressing like one of them getting knocked up or diying, more of a heart touching kind of thing. something that will make the persone reading it cry from happy ness, or because it is so sweet. any ideas? im kinda stuck at 40 pages.... i was thinking maybe something that could happen that would bring my characters closer in friendship like on of their mothers dying, but thats so sad. :( any ideas are appreciated! thanks :) oh by the way im not publishing it or anything its just for fun!

Hi I'm writing a book and it's about these two gangs, and I need to know what area does someone need to get punched or kicked so that he is permanently not able to speak? Is it the vocal chords or is there a special name for the correct muscle and is it possible to just not be able to talk for a while? Any help would be greatly appreciated...

i'm reading it right now, and it seems reasonably clear which parts are supposed to be partially true, and which parts are supposed to be mostly fictional, but i'm interested to see what other people think.

"you look
but are you seeing?
on the outside i'm fine,
but inside i'm screaming!
the scars are slowly fading,
but the pain stays buried deep.
you've never never seen me cry,
but i sob myself to sleep.

(chorus:) and you can't see it
unless you know what you are looking for.
and you can't tell me how i feel
unless you know how i felt before.
and you can't feel this pain
unless you aren't afraid to reach out.
and you can't make me be sure of myself
unless you yourself aren't in doubt.
and you can't help me now
unless you've known my past.
and you can't try and make me love you...

...unless i know that yours will last

-end chorus-

you hear me
but are you listening?
my voice is small and fading
so now i am only whispering.
you can hear the laughs
but can you hear the emptiness?
will you be the one to hear me?
will you be the one to end this?

(repeat chorus)

...unless i know that yours will last...."

I'm thinking about writing a story throughout my school year. I need ideas, but strictly around uncommon, realistic things that actually could happen.

Pretty much realistic fiction.

I am in the early stages of reading Jane Eyre. It is very interesting.
Just wondering: How is Jane Austen's Persuasion?
Female authors are great!
