The Bible: Words of Primitive Men about God. Actually an interesting historical record of a people that didn't differentiate between spiritual laws and domestic laws. Hence, it considers itself to be the word of God, when it is most likely not.

I'm not sure that it's really been horribly mistranslated, though much has been lost through the translations it has undergone. It's always hard to understand the thoughts of one culture in the language of another. There are many scholars who have worked hard to properly translate the Bible. George Lamsa probably being the best known:

It's true that there are a lot of mistranslations in the Bible but what bothers me more is that Iraneus, the Bishop in charge of putting the books of the Bible together, left out many of the books that I would have been interested in reading, especially the gospels. Recently, the Gospel of Judas has been discovered. I have read the translated version, and it's one of the most interesting things I've ever read. However, the book that are in the Bible are the word of God. It says that every person will know enough to get them into Heaven.

Bible is word of God and never mistranslated historical document. Why I say this? Coz I study a bible. Bible is very accurate and can be trusted. For instance, thousand years ago (in BCE) people in the world didnt believe that earth is circle they believed earth was flat even for the priests of that time also believe ... but Isaiah (one of scriptures in the bible which had been completed writing on 732 BCE) wrote on Isaiah 40:22 said that earth is circle. U can see how accurate bible in sience, its just an example and for history like Nebuchadnezzar (the king of babylon) which u can find story in Daniel's Scriptures, and lots more. I can show u with prove and evidence but its better to discuss with me. if u want to discuss .... contact me

sorry, i don't think it's the word of god, it's a horribly mistranslated historical document that has gone through some rather embarressing translations that have alarmed those who believe it to be god's words.

Word of God as far as it's translated correctly. Actually it's the words of prophets that wrote some words of God and some religious experiences.

Check out Bart Ehrman's book, Misquoting Jesus. It has some very nice and very well researched info of the numerous translation problems in the Bible.

One factoid - the King James version is one of the least accurate translations out there.
