I was wondering how Cortes defeated the Aztecs?

Hey all.

Im a guitarist and have been for about a year now.

But the strange thing is that ive never really played others bands songs, i just play my own. I learnt House of the Rising Sun by the Animals and thats about it.

I think its because i dislike the whole practicing a song over and over. I feel its quite Mundane.

Now i personally think im not to bad at playing guitar, but i only ever write my own songs and just have a jam with myself if you know what i mean. I seem to just pick up a guitar a play with sounds if you get me

Now what i wanted to know is would this be a good thing or a bad thing. Bad becasue i dont have a massive library of songs i can play and its made learning a little slower.

But it must be good that im picking up my style of music and how i want to play guitar so early.

Im not quite sure. All opinions are greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Pen and ink are your miller's wheel
Grinding verses from thoughts you recall
Your stock in trade are the words and refrains
Paid for with tears from us all

A moment in time, a glass of red wine,
Perhaps a dear friend and a fire
A cool summer breeze and a metaphor please
And the stories you tell, we desire

Your poets world is a curious world
Somehow, locked away
With your colored glass and brandy flask
And painful yesterdays

Like scissors and tape for an old photograph
You mend fragments of days long gone
So careful to save from all those who gave
Your poems the wings that they fly on

You close your eyes to the madness outside
Lost in the sounds you remember
Of walking a path, or taking a bath
A splash, the crackle embers

Asking "why" of the rain, "how come" to the cane
Shouting "hey" to the ones who remember
"No more of this, please" you call to the trees
"No more” to the shadowy timber

Sometimes when caught by the afternoon air
You leave us, just for a while,
To buy bits of time with your nickels and dimes
Then piece them together forever

Would this include genders...

Say you did not know that the avatar who made you happier than ever before...was of the same sex (or opposite sex for homosexuals).

Would it matter?

Looking at the sky on a clear night all the stars light years away wondering how many planets are out there and then back at my feet I remembering the news reports of violence in the world and How religion and some men teach we are the only life in the universe Created by God I now say.
Do you mean this is the best God could do. All the birds fish of the sea insects live in harmony No attempts of genocide of one bird or fish or insect because of your color or facial features.
We can dislike our neighbor because the country they come from. Or their religion,
To the edge of wanting to kill them.

Do you think I have the right to feel "non-important" in this situation? What is your outlook?

My mum currently lives overseas. She owns a house [a 5 minute drive] from where I reside/rent with my partner and daughter. She does not rent her house to any tenants, and whilst she is overseas [where she lives; a few years at a time] her house is empty.

I am asked to pick up her mail weekly, and to check on the house occasionaly to make sure noone has "broken in".
My question is, do you think I have the right to be slightly annoyed at the fact that my mum rather have her house sitting empty, than allow/offer me to live in there.

She knows my partner and I are trying our hardest to save for our own house, being that rent is so high these days - I am sure she knows how much easier it would be to save money faster. We do not have any addictions or reasons why she could or would be "iffy" about us living there. Would this situation bother you, as it seems to be bothering ME!

Am I wrong?

My name is Francis Tolliver, I come from Liverpool.
Two years ago the war was waiting for me after school.
To Belgium and to Flanders, to Germany to here
I fought for King and country I love dear.

‘Twas Christmas in the trenches, where the frost so bitter hung,
The frozen fields of France were still, no Christmas song was sung
Our families back in England were toasting us that day
Their brave and glorious lads so far away.

I was lying with my messmate on the cold and rocky ground
When across the lines of battle came a most peculiar sound
Says I, “Now listen up, me boys!” each soldier strained to hear
As one young German voice sang out so clear.

“He’s singing bloody well, you know!” my partner says to me
Soon, one by one, each German voice joined in harmony
The cannons rested silent, the gas clouds rolled no more
As Christmas brought us respite from the war

As soon as they were finished and a reverent pause was spent
“God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen” struck upsome lads from Kent
The next they sang was “Stille Nacht.” “Tis ‘Silent Night’,” says I
And in two tongues one song filled up that sky

“There’s someone coming toward us!” the front line sentry cried
All sights were fixed on one long figure trudging from their side
His truce flag, like a Christmas star, shown on that plain so bright
As he, bravely, strode unarmed into the night

Soon one by one on either side walked into No Man’s Land
With neither gun nor bayonet we met there hand to hand
We shared some secret brandy and we wished each other well
And in a flare-lit soccer game we gave ‘em hell

We traded chocolates, cigarettes, and photographs from home
These sons and fathers far away from families of their own
Young Sanders played his squeezebox and they had a violin
This curious and unlikely band of men

Soon daylight stole upon us and France was France once more
With sad farewells we each prepared to settle back to war
But the question haunted every heart that lived that wonderous night
“Whose family have I fixed within my sights?”

Hi, so i am completely terrible with words and being creative. I am after a little rhyme to write in my parents christmas card that explains the gift i got for them. I will quickly tell you the basics about what i got them,

For their christmas present, instead of buying them another typical christmas gift, i signed up at Animals Asia Foundation on their behalf and purchased a pot of raisins, some toys and a pot of honey for the moon bears that have been rescued. The moon bears have been caged in really nasty farms and had legs cut off and rusty catheters embeded into their stomaches for up to 22years, so the farmers can drain their bile, etc.
The foundation that that rescues and treats them is the one that i brought the gifts off.
Sorry i am really hopeless at explaining things. Which is exactly why i need your help. I was after something simple and lighthearted, even a bit cheeky / funny, just explaining what their gift is.
Thanks so much guys, i really appreciate it
