Dante would put most of us in Hell, though probably just in the first circle. His depiction of Hell followed most of the teachings of the Catholic Church and since many of us have violated those teachings without repenting, we'd be in Hell. Dante consigned to Hell all those who gave in to impulses that many people today act on.
As for the deeper circles of Hell, Dante hated hypocrites, so there would be a lot of modern people for him to choose from. People who have one law for themselves and a different set of laws for everybody else. So many modern "leaders" come to mind on this one that it would be futile to write them down!

I believe that Dante would place Stalin, Hitler, Margaret Thatcher for their combine contribution to the social and economic disaster they unleashed on the 20th century. These politicians totally dehumanised politics and placed monetary concerns and political dogma above humanity.
