On 11/01/07, the NYT obits reported the death of Paul Tibbets Jr., the pilot of the Enola Gay, which dropped the first A-bomb on Japan. The obit states: "His mother, the former Enola Gay Haggard, grew up on an Iowa farm and was named for a character in a novel her father was reading shortly before she was born."

Can't find reference to the particular novel or information on the character. I wonder if, as many know, the fact that "Enola" spelled backwards is "alone" has any significance in the book?

The only thing is that she doesn't kno who or where she can send it to when it is complete. Can I please get some suggestions for her?

experience in this ? It's not the memory card, flash charging, aperture ring, battery and I've tried all different settings including Auto. The camera is a year old and I do take lots of pictures. I noticed it getting bad on my last vacation on the beach, lots of wind and sand. Could sand have gotten in the camera and should I bring it in to a camera shop and have it looked at ?

I learnt about this in history and googling hasn't got my anywhere cos I can't remember the details! I think it was that a group of pioneers were travelling across/over a mountain range in North America which at that time hadn't really been explored (1880s?), they got stuck (maybe bad weather?) and had to resort to cannibalism? Does anyone know any details/a wikipedia page about this???

I have about one hundred 4 X 6 photos from an old photo album. I'd like to scan, save and reprint them as 4 X 6. What resolution should I use to preserve the quality of the photo when I reprint them? I tried 1200 dpi and that took forever!

This is a question about history. Im talking about the water bording Manhattan all over including the west side, downtown, and all over other parts of the the city and other nearby cities too. Now the harbor looks nice with parks and a clean place. What did it look like a really long time ago. What there a lot of garbage. Did is smell bad. What did the buildings looks like. Was it dirty or clean. What types of things happened. What exactly did it used to look like.
