Egypt's ancient culture is still visible in the agriculture & landmarks along the Nile.
The Masai people (in several countries) have a unique connection to the land & wildlife.
The Toureg people (in several countries) are still nomadic and focus on livestock.
Other traditions are less positive, for example female genital mutilation in Chad & Sudan, diamond mining in South Africa.
