There's no specific name for a short poem. A poem does not have a length requirement.

Maybe you're thinking of a haiku? A haiku is a type of short poem which consists of three lines: the first contains five syllables, the second contains seven, and the third contains five more. There are other formats for short poems, though.

There is a couplet, which is two rhyming lines, however a couplet is not usually an entire poem but rather part of a series of couplets or at the end of a sonnet.

Well it depends, because there are many types of short poems. For instance, there's the cinquain, the haiku, senryu, nonet, triolet, and lots more.

Anyways, there is no specific name for a short poem, because poetry could be at any length. However, the ones I said in my previous paragraph are some poems that have a short length.

A Haiku is short. It has 3 lines. The first line has 5 syllables, the second line has 7, and the third line has 5 again. Haiku's are usually about nature.

Here is an example:

Crisp cold white snowflakes
Winter snow is falling down
Falling, falling, slow

I love it just the way it is. - I don't think you'll ever find a work that is unanimously approved of but as long as it elicits participation (judging is participation) it is relevant and a winner in my book. Not to mention that it brings a piece of you to the rest of us. Art of any kind is a gift from the artist to the world in my mind.

Notes: technically, a stanza is a succession of lines that form a poem or song, and a verse is either a single line of writing or a series of lines in a song
