Hi, I want to use the essay question "How does Volpone act as a critique of 17th century materialism?" But, I don't know what 17th century materialism is! I don't mean in terms of philosophy and Hobbes, because I don't think that really applies to Volpone. Does anyone know? I haven't been able to find a definition that doesn't have to do with consumeristic culture or philosophy, and am very confused as to what my professor is talking about. Is 17th century materialism just what materialism is today? (Meaning that it's about greed?) Please help me!! AggHHHHHHHHH PAPERSSS. Thank you.

Since you film users talk so much about film being better because of the tonality, colour reproduction, contrast, saturation, etc etc being better than what digital can do, can you give me examples? Anything that supports your claim. Show me any evidence that proves digital can't reproduce a film image.

Cupid, must thou pierce me with thy searing arrows?
Other passions now fleet into the air,
My life meaningless otherwise but for her cause
Her lips fills the rifts in my cracked heart
Space between mine fingers only to be contained by hers

Staring down at me as she does,
The Stars mock me with their twinkle.
Oh Cupid thou art cruel
Separating us congenial

I pray the fiend take my soul,
Such that we lay in the abyss of fire
Where our passion can fuel flames forever

My heart aches, my soul fades
Everything away, for her grace

-End

Umm. I dont know how it sounds to you all, but if it sounds bad please leave comments on how I can improve.
I'm shortlisted for a English Talent Programme and I wonder if i should include this in my portfolio of writings. Thanks guys! (Good comments are really welcomed. Haha) Cheers!

Through no fault of thiers? It was just beyond thier control. But should you be honest with them about how much it is hurting you even if it isn't their fault? Especially if it is something that will be on going? Maybe for the rest of your lives? How honest should you be?

I heard that Harry Truman had one of the lowest approval ratings for any president and I was wondering why he was so unpopular. Were people mad at him because he used atomic weapons on Japan... was that the reason??

or was it something else?

Why do the great photography schools teach film first?

Why do the masters still shoot film?

Why do the new kids or amateurs say digi is better to learn on? Are they smarter than seasoned pros and the masters and the great schools and teachers?

How can they learn?

College
For some reason he avoids me. His friends are staying away from me. I have a tendency to stare at people whenever I am thinking about something. It's a bad habit of mine. He thinks that I like him a lot and that I am obsessed over him. I think if I just tell him that he looks A Lot like my cousin he won't be freaked out. He won't think that I am into him in anyway. I just tend to be too friendly I guess. People have different interpretations of everything. What should I say? Sometimes I feel the same way about guys I meet. I ask myself why and there is always to fix the problem.
