For something to exist, we as humans have to comprehend it, comprehension takes a philosophical thought process to justify it's existence, this can ONLY be properly attained by looking at something from ALL of the views and angles that proves it's existence (concept, principal and morale)

it talks about man as a rational being, a social being, a being that exists in this reality, a solitary being, a being that is different from other beings, the capabilities of such being, just the way you asked this question, philo of man basically talks about man, the whole reality about man

man as:

rational- Aristotle
social- Karl Marx, Martin Buber, GabrielMarcel, etc.
created being- St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Augustine
Solitary being- Jean-Paul Sartre
