yes. First Arabs conquered India from which they took many mathematical techniques like of 'ZERO', 'PYTHAGORAS' etc. After that they r the one who introduced the use of zero in Europe through Spain & even the invention of 'Gun' was the main result of Arabs & Europe clash.

"Arabs" - yes. The held about 2/3 of what is now Spain and Portugal. You can still see their influence in the architecture of the southernmost cities.
