What do you do with a control freak???????

I'm curious as to what other people would do in my situation.

My boyfriend is a control freak and can't stand the fact I have a very good business and told me if I didn't give it up we could not be together? What is wrong that people have to control other people to be happy?????

I want to make a difference.?

i feel such a force, an intense passion, to do something. i need to help the world with its suffering. im talking about the 3rd world countries. there are child laborers, bought and sold prostitutes, and enormous poverty and disease. i want to do something and i feel a strange energy about it, there is something about 3rd world countries that just gets me. does anyone know what i mean. i want to be a part of it, see it, feel it, breath it. what should i do? im only 15, i want to VISIT these countries, not send away money.

What's worse : free speech, altho possibly offensive to some, or the banning of certain opinions?

Dr Watson, DNA pioneer, is predictably under fire for saying blacks are genetically less intelligent than whites. The important and fascinating study of comparative genetics was progressing rapidly before WW11 but has been shut down as politically incorrect since then. People with no real morality of their own are the first to scream outrage at anyone who dares to break this taboo. Such essentially fake indignation boosts their essentially fake moral stance.

why is it so wrong to sometimes use clichés?

I mean they are clichés for a reason, because they were beautiful phrases? Yes ok it gets boring, but there will come a time when words are all just clichés. How many songs and poems do you really like that are full of clichés? it's common and safe yes, but they can be used in an imaginative way can't they? Personally I kinda like the odd cliché every now and then, especially when it is applied in a different way to how many of us would have otherwise percieved it, thoughts on the matter anyone? We only say it is wrong because that is what our lecturers have said.

How can you reconcile rational choice theory with secular ethics?

I am 16 and I need some good books to read. I have read stephenie meyer's books. I like classics and I have a pretty high reading level, but I want it to be clean and NOT crude or disgusting. I don't really like lots of romance.

Best of the Classics...?

Hey, my mom just got a coupon for buy one get one classic book but I don't know what to choose. For the first one I'm pretty sure I want to get Dante's Inferno but I'm not sure and I really like Shakespeare's works but I want to get one I haven't read yet and my favorite by him {so far} is A Midsummer Night's Dream. Angels paintings?

I haven't been able to find any angel paintings that are modern and ethereal on-line. The perfect glowing face, the intense compassion and full-body with flowing robes kind. Would appreciate being directed to such, dated 1990 to now. The old masters never seemed to catch that aura of intense compassion i am looking for, and wanted too many angels to be cherubs instead.
