I'm curious as to what other people would do in my situation.

My boyfriend is a control freak and can't stand the fact I have a very good business and told me if I didn't give it up we could not be together? What is wrong that people have to control other people to be happy?????

Ditch that chump. He doesn't love you. Love=caring more about your partner's happiness than about your own. His behavior obviously indicates that he'd rather placate some neurosis of his than support you in something in which you presumably take some justified pride. Kick him to the kerb.

I am a bit if a control freak but I know it (its a scorpio thing so I`ve been told). I`m really pleased that you are doing so well for yourself and sad to hear about your situation. I suppose I would have to question wether or not it would be good for you to continue this relationship but I feel that would be out of order. It does call for some action though and if it were me (as a bit of a control freak) I know I would respond to some one saying, " I have worked hard and I enjoy were it has brought me. I`m not going to give up my achievements or my dreams. I would really like to share these with you and for that to happen I would like your support and understanding. I`m not so sure that I`m getting that at the moment and perhaps as a couple we could look at where we are and where we are going?" As I say I would respond to this in a positive way if I truely loved some one. Otherwise I would suggest calling it a day.

Go your separate ways. If he can't get over himself and his jealousy then he's not worth it.

As for what to do with control freaks - avoid them at all costs. Their need to control others really just shows their own insecurities.

Don't let him control,or complex your life.Just the fact that you know he is a control freak, means not to listen to him,and do what you want to do!

Don't stay with him and try and change him, trust me he won't change or at least not for a long time. tell him what you think and if he doesn't like it it is his loss.
