Or any form of ethics for that matter.
Is RTC totally devoid of ethics, or are ethics considered part of the motivating force for our choices?
Thanks.

Rational choices are always ethical. the "rationality" of our choices are primarily based on what the church had told us what "rational" is about. (for the Philippine setting I guess). But to answer your question, rational choices must be in favor of the "humanity principle" of helping others than hurting them.

Of course ethics form a part (a fairly large part, actually) of our choices. But they're our own, personal, ethics and not those of an institutionalized system. You really can't reconcile the two, so don't waste time trying.
Just decide if you want to make up your own mind, or have someone else always tell you what to do.

I looked up "rational choice theory" in the Stanford Enclyopedia of Philosophy and found 1211 entries. Would you like to tell us which one of these you mean?
