While colonists considered themselves British citizens the English government looked on them as commoners. Less than citizens. While colonists wanted to be represented in Parliament the English government thought this idea laughable. colonists wanted to collect there own taxes for the British government. Britain refused. Unable to agree both sides became angrier and angrier. Finally fighting broke out in 1775.

You would have done a lot better if you had not been so headstrong and wanted to leave home. If you had stayed at home with Mum and Dad you would now be receiving:
free medical treatment
concessionary travel fares for the elderly
overcrowded motor way
trains that don't run on time
able to use correct English grammar together with English spelling
have lots of illegal immigrants wandering about
plenty of rain
understanding the complexities of cricket
playing the man's game of Rugby rather than your watered down version
the Beckham's could have come to LA sooner
experienced a pure English summer of intermediate rain/winds accompanied by a little sun
a sense of humour
know where Europe actually is
George Bush Jr would never have amounted to anything because he didn't go to the right school - despite his money. (We only rate old money for breeding ourposes not new) They are referred to as the "nouveau riche", akin to pop stars who generally have bad taste.
There is plenty more things that you have missed by leaving home, but I must say you have done quite well really - apart from young George - very poor choice I must say!!

Top Ten Reason Brits lost the Revolution:
French kept surrendering; Brits tied up taking prisoners;
British marched on the left of the road, Americans on the right; never made contact;
Too may tea breaks!
Cricket takes so long to play most British troops never got into battle;
Reinforcements coming from Europe got lost in Bermuda Triangle;
Thought they were fighting the NEW YORK Yankees; spent their time in the Bronx booing A-Rod
Stayed in towns, watching BBC America on cable and getting homesick;
Didn't have exact change for GW Bridge, Jersey Turnpike, etc...
Patriots had Brady and Belicheck;
and the Number One Reason:
Never got those Red Coats back from the cleaners.;

The first thing that happened is that the Americans did their own homework. The freedom and liberty that comes from doing your own homework is astounding and extraordinary! I highly recommend it!
