I'm a complete beginner and I already have lessons planned that start next Thursday.

Is there anything I can do in the meantime or should I just chill til I meet my instructor?

I looked on YouTube already and couldn't find anything pertinent.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

and keep them away and the longer I can stay away from them the more ignorant I see them as being, once I have to make contact with them again I know what they did wrong or why I think / thought they were stupid, does that make any sense? What about you and what do you do to try to make yourself feel different about them or see them differently so that you can deal with them again?

I know during world war 2 there was basically a gentleman's agreement that the allies wouldn't bomb areas of Rome because of it's historical significance. What were some other areas like this, and is there anywhere I can find out more information about this unwritten agreement?

Keep in mind that a shadow is merely the absence of light and therefore does not exist. Can a real object be determined by something that is unreal?

My father's relatives are a very interesting group. My grandma's is from Czech Republic/ Slovakia (i think) and My grandpa's is from Slovenia/Croatia. Both sides left as little information as possible about their family tree. I wouldn't doubt that my grandma is actually czech.

Does anyone know of any European good ancestory check websites. I doubt that any U.S. ancestory base would have any info on them. Also, is there any records that the goverments of these nations may or may not have kept. Just trying to peace things together.

Thanks to everyone that has serious answers!!!!

Let me know if you need more detail/more sense of the question!!!

I have an opportunity to have one of my songs (one of my more popular ones) to be included on a compilation CD with 11,000 distributed all over the globe, retail stores, radio, etc. BUT... the record company, WOA international, asks to keep the exclusive licensing rights to the song for 5 years! That means that song cant appear on other compilations, video games or appear in TV/film spots, etc by sources OTHER than threw WOA's efforts. Although during those 5 years, they say they will be actively shopping the song around during those 5 years.
Is this a good deal?

What do you think we can do to make those that use to care about others and about what is going on in this life and world we all live in care again? Do you think there is any way that we can do that if they don't care anymore? What do you do to do that or how do you do that? Does it matter?

I found this interesting quote, but what does it mean:

There is therefore a necessity for pleasure, for working, as happiness can be defined, toward known goals over not unknowable obstacles. And the necessity for pleasure is such that a great deal of pain can be borne to attain it. Pleasure is the positive commodity. It is enjoyment of work, contemplation of deeds well done; it is a good book or a good friend; it is taking all the skin off one's knees climbing the Matterhorn; it is hearing the kid first say daddy; it is a brawl on the Bund at Shanghai or the whistle of amour from a doorway; it's adventure and hope and enthusiasm and 'someday I'll learn to paint'; it's eating a good meal or kissing a pretty girl or playing a stiff game of bluff on the stock exchange. It's what Man does that he enjoys doing; it's what Man does that he enjoys contemplating; it's what Man does that he enjoys remembering; and it may be just the talk of things he knows he'll never do.

Im writing an essay on metaphysical poets and I am having trouble formulating a sentence or two that summarises the attitude towards death in present day society. I would like to mention the notion of people challenging death eg. when cars drag race one another and narrowly avoid death. I would also like to incorporate the idea that life expectancy is almost three times what it was in late 16th century/early 17th century and as a result, people seem less concerned about death.

Any help be much appreciated.

My War.

The crimson tears,
The crystal blood,
The wasted years,
The wasted love.

A Purple Heart,
The scars that show,
For a brand new start,
You need to go.

The battle crys,
Of you and me.
The hardend eyes,
Cant seem to see.

It's over now.
No one won.
Sow your plow,
I'm finally done.
