I think we probably have the same thoughts about the last book. The ending just didnt seen to satisfy all these years of anticipation. It was a little to confusing and seemed mashed together. It was like "draco got the elder wand so its snapes so its mrs malfoys which means voldemort has to kill off so and so which means harry has the power and so on" and then voldemort died kind of low key with an expeliarmus. It lacked drama and didnt really draw on the earlier books

nothing was really revealed or astounding it was just a textbook ending

however there is good news

in an interview with msnbc JK had announced plans to publish a Harry Potter encyclopedia of sorts which will supposedly tie up all the loose ends

Hope this helps!

There were quite a few things that JK indicated would be in the last book which were not. Also quite a bit of foreshadowing was used in the previous book that was left unanswered.

JK is a good vastly imaginative writer. This does not make her a great writer however and does not make her work worth ALL of the hype it received. She was under tremendous pressure to keep the marketing wagon rolling - so to speak. Without a huge amount of back story to support Harry and a supercomputer to keep track of all the un tethered plotlines and marketing promises I do not think it is a surprise the book cannot meat everyone’s overzealous expectations.

What's really missing is Harry going up to Ginny and saying "It's done. Will you marry me?"

I thought so too until i read it again. Read it again and it'll make more sense and since you arent freakin out when you are reading, more enjoyable.
