The West as a geographic Region has been viewed as romantic place where new opportunity and “rugged individualism flourished in the latter half of the 19th century.

Anyone care to challenge the notion of this romanticism by looking at the “frontier thesis”, the struggles of farmers, miners and ethnic groups that populated the Great Plains and the Far West?

I'm planning to get some model(s) together soon to set ups some photo shoots. I don't have a studio so most of my
subjects are shot outdoors. I'm looking to find some cool places to do some shooting with a model or two. Fashion oriented or eclectic people photography.
I live in the South Bay area near the Beach Cities i.e Redondo, Hermosa and Manhattan Beach.

I need to find some other LA spots to variate the background/ local of these shots. City spots, other beaches, Plazas, Parks whatever.
Any location suggestions will be helpful.

I can sing, act and i guess everything. But i need to put myself out there, do u think its a good idea to write a screenplay, submit it and then ask to act in it. It would be a great way to start. I am already professionaly writing one and i think i have a good chance with the studio near by. Im only 14 though.

I would like some different perspectives on this question. Is it possible to craft a work of literature without politics (please explain)? Thanks.

Two things.

Firstly, why is it that nobody seems to care that Voldemort is a "mudblood"

Second (and more importantly) does anyone know what the deal was with the deformed baby thing in Harry's "afterlife" type place? I can't remember them explaining it at all.

Going into dreamland
looking at the clouds
i notice a pretty angel
how wonderful it sounds

i thought they'd come on another day
but fait picked this moment
and this is what they say

"Hello pretty people we are here to stay
we've been sent from above
your time was called today
don't fear our presence
or our bright white cloaks
we are going to heaven now
we have to pass sky smoke"

so when youv'e pictured time
going into dreamland
looking at the clouds
do you notice your pretty angel
how wonderful that sounds. Renay Birkett age 24

What about you,
Makes my knees buckle,
My jaw jitter,
And my palms ice-cold?

Is it your blue eyes,
As deep as the night sky,
Piercing through each soul it stares?

Or maybe it’s your lips,
So soft and smooth,
As though it’s never kissed another pair?

Could it be your hair,
That neat mess of hazelnut,
Uncombed yet perfectly placed?

Possibly your physique,
Gracefully sculpted by angels,
Like a tease to the heart of the single?

Beauty, what a shallow reason to love.

I love you for none of the above.

Not for your muscles that carry me off the sofa,
Neither for your hair that mimics your movement,
Nor for your lips that smile at me every day,
Or for your eyes that look at me so patiently---

But…

For carrying me off the sofa, to our bed,
For ruffling your hair to make me laugh,
For smiling at me every single day,
For giving me all the patience in the world.
And for giving me your undying love,
I love you.

There were some atrocities committed (by both sides) in the Revolutionary War. But, by comparison with the French Revolution, or certainly with the much later Russian Revolution, atrocities committed by soldiers upon one another or upon civilians appear to have been relatively few in both number and scale. This despite the fact that propagandists such as Paine were spewing out inflammatory tracts that could only be interpreted as incitements to extreme brutality.

So, how was it that conduct between enemies in the Revolutionary War was so comparatively restrained?

Or am I simply wrong in judging it to have been restrained?

I just finished reading THE END a week ago.
The whole series seem to be weaved together so excellently.
Now, this question has been boggling my mind ever since i finished the bad beginning:

Is "A Series of Unfortunate Events" fictional? Or the story really occured here on earth??

and

Where is Lemony Snicket? Who is he really?
Why is he "still at large"? Like a criminal or something??

sorry about the multiple questions..
I'm just very curious...
