What about Stanley, Barbra's husband. He was not included in the book

Vonnegut was actually quite pleased with the movie, he said. I don't think any character in the movie had a bigger role than in the book, though perhaps Billy's son and daughter got a little more emphasis than in the book. Montana Wildhack is another possibility. I don't recall her being featured to quite that extent in the book.

On the other side of the coin, I think Roland Weary and Howard Campbell got a bit more treatment in the book than the movie. It's been a while since I have read the book or seen the movie, but those are my impressions.

Not a direct answer to the question but I thought the movie did a great job considering the complexities of the book in traveling back and forth through time. Additionally, the movie also carried the same themes as the book.

I thought the book was great. What a sad day when the old man passed!

I have heard the movie was not so good.
