My father's relatives are a very interesting group. My grandma's is from Czech Republic/ Slovakia (i think) and My grandpa's is from Slovenia/Croatia. Both sides left as little information as possible about their family tree. I wouldn't doubt that my grandma is actually czech.

Does anyone know of any European good ancestory check websites. I doubt that any U.S. ancestory base would have any info on them. Also, is there any records that the goverments of these nations may or may not have kept. Just trying to peace things together.

Thanks to everyone that has serious answers!!!!

Let me know if you need more detail/more sense of the question!!!

www.familysearch.org has listings from all over the world and sometimes as far back as the 11th century or earlier.

www.homestead.com/gpapa/files/geneeuro.htm (I'm not sure if this is for one particular family name or what, but on the opening page is a link to genealogy in/from the Czech Republic, Bohemia, Moravia, and a link to the Poland GenWeb).

http://www.geneanet.org/
is sort of like Roots Web or GenCircles, but based in Europe.

The Mormons get data from all over the world. They might have church records.
