You should really be thinking what YOU are interested in writing about!
I have read tons, and I mean tons thought my years so far and I can usually tell when a author is passionate about what they write.
Write about something you give a c#&$ about or something that makes you mad or something in the world you think need changing!
Try this trick when you next go to a bookstore. Go to the just released to paperback section, pick up a novel and open to a random page.
Now read two paragraphs and deicide whether you like it or love it. Only purchase the books you feel you would love. I do this all the time and always walk away with books everyone else it talking about two months later.
I by no means attribute my luck to my own reading prowess but rather to the passion of the author. If its there on the page you will feel it and hopefully you will get the same feeling when you begin to write.
Good luck and happy reading and writing!!!!

I think creative fiction novel's are a good place to start. Maby like a fantisy series which kids find very entertaining. But before you start writing really think in your head about the cahracters you want the setting the plot.
I would reccomend writing a summary of your book before you go into minor deatails. If you've ever read a book that really inspired you, maby you should try to write a book that compares and has the same points and values as the insprational book
Good Luck!!

What do YOU care about? What sort of people fascinate you? What issues catch your attention? what do you struggle with personally? What do YOU like to read? Your answers to these questions will help you figure out what to write.
Most people will read something that is well written, engaging, and believable. That's what you should strive for, once you've identified what you will write.
I don't know what the focus in your creative writing class was, but I would recommend that you not limit yourself to one genre. try your hand at a number of different kinds of writing. You should find that one or two "feel" right for you.
Good luck!

I'm a writer, I've written 2 books and I'm on my third. The best thing i can tell you is this. If you want to write a book you'll just to do, u won't think about it. If you have it then you have it. and write about what you like, what you know, what you can make up for your self. If you just go with what others like the book won't come out. For example, I'm writ ting a vampire book, well i started with that b/c i love the idea of vampires and i have came up with my own little world for them. thus it really works well.
If you want to write a book, just do it and see how it comes out, pick something, write some ideas out and create a world around that.

Writing is a personal thing. I write when I have something to say. Often I'm writing for myself to see what I'm thinking, usually in journal form. I've written numerous short stories as well and several picture books. I've got a 250 page children's book that I wrote and need to go back and edit and have been thinking about that for a while now. I'm hopeing to get back to it before the first snow falls. Regards to all.

If your going to write, it will only work if you write about something that you feel strongly about.
Writing is hard enough and the process of completing and editing/critiquing a story is so defeating (you have to have a tough skin) that if you try to please others, you'll never write anything that good.
Suggest that you start with a story, Short story and go from there.

Whatever your interested in writing. I dun wanna read a book where the author doesn't care about the subject... I'd rather read a book where I dun care about the subject but the author does.
