The Stand is by far Stephen King's best book, in my opinion. I don't know how "scary" it is, but it's deff. great. Also, Stephen King's IT is a LOT scarier than the movie. Definitely worth the read. Desperation is pretty good too. As for his short stories, have you read Four Past Midnight? It's great.

And honestly, the scariest book I have ever read was actually Bram Stoker's Dracula. It's fantastic.

The Beast Within by Edward Levy is a very scary and twisted novel. Mr. Levy has only written two notable novels but this book takes the cake.

have fun!

Try these:

The Stand by Stephen King or Helter Skelter. Helter Skelter is the true story about the Manson Family and the killings they committed.
