What are the seven basic plots in literature?

I once read somewhere (it was so long ago that I can't remember where or who said it) that "there are only seven basic plots in all novels and plays." Does this ring any bells? Does anyone know what I am talking about? What are the seven basic plots that always repeat themselves in all literature?

Many thanks.

For book 7, is there any difference in the content of the book, or is the delux just the way it looks?

I read A LOT, and I'm looking for another good book. Preferably in the Middle Ages, with a female heroine. If possible, no magic. Historical disasters aren't bad either, like the Alamo or the Titanic. PLEASE don't recommend anything about the Triangle Shirtwaist fire, I've read pretty much everything about it and I'm sick of it.

I am in the 10th grade, going into the 11th, just so you know.

I'm looking to book seats for the Rat Pack show here in August as part of a birthday evening for my boyfriend.

Just wanted to see if the Royal Stalls (first level) were a lot better than normal ground floor stalls. Its not the sort of show where you want to feel cut off from it.

No stupid answers please just to get points.

The picture plainly says that it is by Michael Dumas, on the picture itself and the artist's signature on the bottom right, but when I try to look it up, on Art.com or Allposters.com I find that this picture is credited to Jake Vanderbrink, not Dumas.

I would like to give this framed print to a friend as a Wedding gift, but not if it is a dodgy picture!

I am a little confused, and would appreciate any help.

In your own words.

Will Light always remain?
What is Light...a feeling, a being, or an essence?
Is light precious or extra?
Who/What shines light on your life when it's dark?

Is there some sort of compass we all have inside of us that guides us through life letting us know what we should and shouldnt do? A spiritual force? And I dont mean God or religion so all the bible bashers out there take it easy and sit this one out. Sometimes I get this feeling that m really suited to somethings and other times I'll get a feeling that im not suited to some other thing. Where does this come from? Thanks

I do agree that 6 million jews died during the Nazi regime years. But to think that they all somehow got cremated in an oven at austwitzed is a little absurd. More likely the 6 million figure has to include all the natural deaths, people who lost fighting in WW2,suicides,deportations,ect.I think Hitler was going after really was to break up the strangle hold the jews had all over Europe, with their wealth, subtle, but still enourmous starnglehold on european governments and their freemasonary connections as well.I think Hitler wanted done really wasn't so much genocide, as he was trying to break the monopoly of influence the Jews had in Europe, while sadly taking out too many innocent men, women and children as well.Or was Hitler more anti-Zionism as opposed to being an Anti-semite. Yes I believe he went way over the top with the jewish question, but an issue that still needed redress.

Maybe? Anyone? I know you can find sites like B&N where you can search find one where you can search based on topic, not title or author, and have a couple books recommended, or even books suggested based on OTHER books I like. I found a site like that once but I lost it and I've never been able to find it again...
