A teacher reccomended a book to me a few months ago. I dont remember the exact details of the plot but it was about a guy who skips his high school prom and skips town and leaves everything he knows and basically drives around the country, living out of his car (or something). It's based on a true story. Sorry about the vague description!

Believe nothing, no matter who has said it, even if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.

If you do not enclose an SASE for your manuscript and the publisher accepts your work, will they not contact you because you have not enclosed an SASE? In other words, to save on postage I plan on simply enclosing an SASE letter sized envelope instead of an SASE 9 by 12 inch sized envelope which holds the manuscript. Will a publisher be 'put off' if you do not enclose a 9 by 12 inch envelope and just a letter size envelope?

and how to feel about that? If I like one thing and you like another, should I just like what you like and forget what I like and become exactly like you or should you become exactly like me? Are we all suppose to become machines and robots and does anyone really think that will really ever work?

I mean technically, how did he apply the paint? How many layers does his painting have? Anyone knows of a site or a book where transversal cuts of his painting layers can be seen?
He uses glazes over opaque painting? And then he uses opaque highlights? How are his deep shadows done: by direct painting or glazing?

I love writing and I write all the time. It is my dream to be an author. The hardest thing is finding something to write about, I think. After you write a novel, if its worth it to begin with, what do you do. I am only sixteen but I feel like i am ready to be a writer! Please leave information and personal experiences.

Fantasy novels often have a common theme: elves, dwarves, goblins, giants, trolls, and man. Many of the successful novel series have taken this this classic fantasy style. However, that seems quite unoriginal. If you could write a fantasy novel, would you use this classic theme, or would you create your own original world with original species? What would you like to write about?

Why do some people have to try so hard at everything and barely succeed, while others get everything so easy. I work so hard but always end in failure! What's wrong with the world! Why is it sooo unfair?

Summer warmth turns chill
Golden leaves dance spirals
In October breeze

Sunday afternoon--
One more televangelist's
Fake altar ego

Summer-end clearance--
Brightly-colored bikinis
Hang like autumn leaves

I'm reading Pride and Prejudice right now, and I don't understand some parts of the book. When they are mentioning the soldiers, why do they say '------shire'? what is that?

also, when Lydia elopes with Wickham, why did they want to them to marry? nowadays, people usually try to convince people who elope not to marry. What would happen if Lydia and Wickham didn't marry? is n't that the point of eloping?

that's as far as i'm up to right now, so if someone could help me, thanks.

For example I'm a philisophical skeptic in the sense that I don't believe in any perfect truth or knowledge but that doesn't stop me from trying to learn things and seeking truth.

We humans have to live with many paradoxes (paradoxi?) if we acknowledge them or not. What's yours?
