There's nothing "wrong" with the world. It's been this way, I think, since it's been at all. As humans, we tend to elevate ourselves above everything else. We also tend to believe in a Utopian existence, where effort = success, etc. Just like in kindergarten.

Life doesn't work that way. You don't get gold stars for effort.

It depends on what it is you're trying to accomplish too.
A job? There's politics in that. You have to know people, feed egos, and other such embarassments.
Mastery of a subject? There are all sorts of things that make you predisposed to failure or success. Mental processes, physical characteristics, etc.

Maybe you aren't applying effort the right way. Each situation is different.

Life's not really going to be fair. If you succeed, someone else fails. If you fail, someone else has succeeded. That's just the way the wheel turns.

We all have 100% success levels. The difference is what you chose. Some people are gifted in math, English or the arts. They find out early in life what they are good at and are drawn to careers or hobbies that revolve around their natural talents. That's what makes them look like they don't need to try so hard. There may be something that you want to do, but you weren't born with that gift so you need to harder work at it. We are all given choices in life. See what talents come naturally to you and you may find something you enjoy more than what you are trying to reach for. Other people will wonder why it's easy for you and so hard for them! It really has nothing to do with the world, only you. Life is not going to be happy if it's full if frustration and failures.

It is not so much what happens to us as our attitude toward it...Sometimes things that don't kill us really do make us stronger. I think people who meet a roadblock at every turn, turn out to be the winners in the end. You learn how to overcome. It is all about how good you feel about yourself and what you consider success...helping others, doing a good job at what you do, no matter how menial it is...that is true success in life, not having material things or the coolest job...

People who get everything they want without having to work for it, may seem like they are happy, but deep inside they can sometimes feel empty. I think even Paris Hilton is beginning to see how pointless her life has been up to now..let's hope so.

id like to Answer "Dont be so daft"!

But i guess that might be a little harsh.

Buy and read helen Keller's famous book called The story
of my life(the paperback costs very little); and think
how much some people make of their unfortunate starts;
And marvel and try-to-emulate such brilliant people as
her teacher,Anne Macy Sullivan.
Good luck.

It's a state of mind thing. Don't be so hard on yourself. You don't have to have control over everything to keep it working right. Some things are alright on their own. When you believe this things will start changing in your world.

Keep your head up!!!
It feels like this way for all of us sometimes. The failure would be for you to stop trying. I truly feel that in these situations where you work your hardest there is a greater success than you ever imagined coming your way!!

I've asked myself this very question when my baby girl still born and a girl who was my "enemy" had TWINS the day my daughter was born. And she smoked during her whole pregnancy. I thought it was unfair. ...

Just keep your head up. Everything will pay off, I promise.

I used to be just like that until I decided that I was going to be happy just like everyone else and that things were going to be easy for me just like everyone else. Get the books below and you might receive the same motivation for happiness that I did. Trust me, things get better if you believe they can.
