The book Twilight by Stephenie Meyer looks very interesting to me, but I'm a boy and I heard it had romance in it. I can tolerate a little romance but not very much. I know it has adventure in it but is there more romance than action? Are there any boys who have read it and liked it?

I've already thought of Romea and Juliet and Anastasia. We had already performed Beauty and the Beast only this February, and other years in our school performed Little Mermaid, Mulan, Miss Saigon and Annie. I need a play that can be done by a class of high school seniors with students of 38; casts, staffs, and propsmen included already. We'll submit the script by July, play in the elimination by August, and if we win, we'll perform in front of our whole school by December.

We hear countless stories of the suffering of other people by disease, starvation and war. Isn't it immoral to just stand by and allow it to continue?

A Baby's Cry

Who are you to judge if I should live or die?
You snuff out my feeble cry
You say at conception I'm not alive
You say your body is your own
mine will never be known
I'll tell you who I am so you will know
if I would have been allowed to live and grow
You would have loved me also
The first flicker of life my soul was given to me
by God not thee
You can cause the flesh to grow
God gave me the best you know
I would have been the best person you would know
My smile would have been so bright
and eager to see watching you smile back at me
My arms would have hugged you with so much love
the feeling would have made you thank God above
I would have run as fast as I could
into your arms wherever you stood
I would have been a bundle of joy
a girl or a boy
Now you will never know me
You will never know the person I was to be
For you chose to end my life so selfishly

MY HEART KNOWS

My heart knows
emotional hollows . . .

. . . hears echos as she goes . . .
. . . and she goes . . .

intravenously
through liquid canyons
saying
ping
ping
ping . . .

Like sonar
on a submarine

She is poised
and listening . . .

For depth charges

Torpedoes

Eerie whistling

Just before
They all come visiting.

My heart knows everything
of the slim possibilities

Obese unpredictabilities
of love.

Hollows aren't nests.

But my heart's readiment
makes up the rest.

Alone i sit in the darkness of the night;
In solitude and alone.
My eyes gaze skyward looking for something;
Something my heart can only feel.
Depth, like the oceans mighty breast enveloping me;
emptiness, weightlessness, crushing, pitiful thoughts made to hear but remain unspoken.
Can you hear me, do you care? An agonizing mental scream does say.
Do you feel me, do you see me? how am i to survive?
Love, is it real? to feel the emotion like a knife bending my soul.
Faith, is it real? like an anvil of unbending steel slick and untouchable, a phantom in the night.
To my knees i fall, answer come unbidden;
Alone i watch the dawn sweet light flow back into the velvety darkness;
To erase the loneliness and cast away the doubt of heart alone in the night.
