how can i see my avater in the new yahoo mail beta?

It appears that it is not a feature of the beta version...yet.

Here is what another user when this question was asked earlier:

"Well, so far for me, the only way I've been able to access my Avatar is by "Googling" it.

Go to www.google.com and then type "Yahoo avatars" in the search engine. After you do that, then you can click on the first link that pops up, and then from there you type in your pswrd. and edit your avatar."

If you have 'created' the avtar, it will appear automatically in the yahoo mail!
