Have you been a fan of Harry Potter since the beginning?...?

For those of you who have been reading the books all along.. how do you feel now that the last book is coming out next month? It's really kind of bittersweet.

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the people who became fans later on..but for those who have been there for the anticipation and speculation between each book -- what are your thoughts?

what's the point of theories like the following? how have they benefited humans?

do not bother to explain technical details, i've been reading up on them since 3 years back.

law of the excluded middle, false dilemna, syllogism.

how would it seriously benefit human beings to study these theories ? granted, false dilemna makes sense in arguement, so does syllogism. but whats the point of making them so similar, and the most questionable(i think) law, law of the excluded middle. like, huh, you need someone to tell you that?

at least theories like Pythagoras' theorm does benefit us, i really cannot picture someone spending weeks on a thesis explaining that if a = b, and b != c, then a != c.

Watership down?

Any fans of the book. Anyone have any thoughts comments, I LOVE THE BOOK. Any one catch any awsome metaphores that i may have missed other than the obvious. (i didnt read it for school so im not trying to do my HW, I just think i may have missed lots of symbolism and stuff.) So cool symbolism and opinions would be nice please (any one cry lots????? I did)

Is sensitivity considered as a weakness? Why are we becoming less and less sensitive to others' sensitivities?

Is it not true that sensitive people are target for mockery and ridicule in today's society? Wouldn't lack of sensitivity mean that we are becoming more like machines or inanimate objects?

The Holocaust?

I am reading a book 'Forgotten Voices of the Holocaust'. It tells of the experiences of those who were incarcerated in various 'camps' during WW2 in mainly Poland and Germany. What I want to know is HOW was this ever allowed to happen? Did people not KNOW about it? What was the point and why? What had certain people done to be treated so inhumanely. It makes very disturbing reading.
