For those of you who have been reading the books all along.. how do you feel now that the last book is coming out next month? It's really kind of bittersweet.

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the people who became fans later on..but for those who have been there for the anticipation and speculation between each book -- what are your thoughts?

I have mixed feelings about it.
Its an exciting but sad time.
I grew up with the Harry Potter series.
[It was the very first book that got me into reading and I will always have a soft spot for it because of that.]

I so badly want to know how it ends - this is the time we've all been waiting for!
We get all out questions answered!
But at the same time, I don't want it to end.
And we can't have both...
[Ahh, how frustrating!]

I am anticipating and dreading the final book. I've been with these characters for 9 years and they have become close family. After I read this last book, it'll feel like I am going off into the world to start my own life away from my parents. Weird, huh?

i haven't been there from "the beginning" but i did read the first three books back to back in 2000 over the period of a long weekend and the next month goblet of fire came out so i have had the pleasure (agony) of waiting for a few of them and i am happy and sad but i know that i will continue reading them for the rest of my life. i look forward to the day when i have kids and will get to read the books to them.

I LOVE THE BOOKS AND CAN NOT WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE. I will be sorry for the series to be over but maybe then other authors can publish in that universe
