A window could suggest many things, depending on how it's used. A window lets you see into a different place, so it could represent a connection, access, or insight. But it also separates, so it could stand for separation, or the desire to overcome the separation. A window frames a particular view, so it could indicate a particular perspective, or a limited understanding.
You have to consider how the window is described, how characters interact with it, what is seen through the window, etc., to decide what a particular literary window might symbolize.

In many cases it is a way to view something. So it may be like the eyes of where ever the window is. It is seen as a passage way/ gate way, a sort of voyeuristic avenue.
