In the 19th century, the British defeated China and took over the island of Hong Kong. The British conquered Arab, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan, Korea, and occupied India. The British invaded Africa and enslaved tens of millions of Blacks. The British occupied N. America and killed tens of thousands of Native Americans, and tens of thousands more died from relocation, diseases, and other hardships. The British wrote the dirtiest, bloodist, and ugliest page in human history---the British Century.

To what extent are the above discussed in the textbooks, and are those statistics mentioned in the books? Thanks.

Jimmy Page is an out and out wierdo. He wont even talk about his personel life because hes embaressed by it---As far as david bowie being crowleys teachings i believe that was around the time of station to station when he was wiped on coke and traveling eastern europe giving the sieg hiel salute. As far as the beatles his picture shows up on the cover of sargent peppers cd thats about it.The stones were into it for a while but after Altamont and the murder i hear they kind of left those beliefs far behind.

Im trying to keep this also as unreligous as possible if you saw my last question. Im not necessarly looking for "soul" answers. But like I just saw a discovery channel episode on the real frankensteins of history, it was actually quite interesting. Each of the scientists agreed that there was some force or energy that couldnt be re-created that made human beings alive. Most of them called it a life force. Again im not looking for religous answers but is there a force or energy that makes living things "alive" that scientists havent discovered yet?

As I Grew Older

It was a long time ago.
I have almost forgotten my dream.
But it was there then,
In front of me,
Bright like a sun--
My dream.
And then the wall rose,
Rose slowly,
Slowly,
Between me and my dream.
Rose until it touched the sky--
The wall.
Shadow.
I am black.
I lie down in the shadow.
No longer the light of my dream before me,
Above me.
Only the thick wall.
Only the shadow.
My hands!
My dark hands!
Break through the wall!
Find my dream!
Help me to shatter this darkness,
To smash this night,
To break this shadow
Into a thousand lights of sun,
Into a thousand whirling dreams
Of sun!

I think that it is talking about trying to accomplish your dream before its too late.

Is there something I am missing because I feel like I am.

I always feel I have two personalities. and one of them(personality #1) are nice, confident, and have a lot of friends. It's the one I show to everyone else. Other people even talk to me many times about thier worries but the other one has no confident, worries, cares about even what I can't change.

Can I pretend to be the personality first?(pretnding sounds bad but I don't know how to say in other word. It's more like being conscious or making yourself believe what you want to be or how you want to think.) What is gonna happen If I keep pretnding like that in front of everyone else? Can I honestly be the personality #1 without being conscious? Some people here told me that I should be conscious about whom I want to be or how I want to think like.
