Did Germany, Italy or Japan win a SINGLE major battle against the Allied forces during World War II. Most of the battles I see took place in between 1940-45 were won by the allies, all of them.

...that seem so predictable (and come true almost everytime) that I almost feel psychic...
When I warn my less-experienced and younger friends of the "for sure" trouble they're running headlong into...
They think I'm crazy...
As if they're saying to me (a wise middle-aged owl)
"...How can you know that? You're NOT psychic?!?
Why do I believe "more-experienced" people when they warn me, and take their warning to heart, without having to dip my toe in the quicksand to find out quicksand is deadly...? And why do other people have to be "saved" from the quicksand because they didn't believe me when I told them...
"Don't go down that path! There's quicksand there!" ?????

We are suppose to have three characters,

One that we exhibit to others.
One we really have.
One we think we have.

Remember, this is tongue in cheek-

Although said by
Alphonse Karr, in all seriousness

I do a lot of flash animations and things like that, however I feel my drawing ability is very limited.

I try to draw things seriously, and most the time I end up doing more characatures than serious drawings...

How could I improve this? Is drawing skillfully a natural gift? or can it be learnt and developed?

Have major surgery coming up in 3 weeks. Have to rest alot easy until surgery is done (I am dying of boredom). I love to read and am looking for some good books, problem is I have read most of them! I am in my 40's. I like romance (not too sappy), I've read Nicholas Sparks, loved Bridges of Madison County. I also love True Crime, have read all Anne Rules books, and I like true crime and mystery. Legal thrillers too. I have read Patterson, Grisham, Meltzer, Anne Rule, Sue Grafton, etc. I would like something funny that makes you laugh out loud. Loved the Devil Wears Prada. Can anyone think of a great book I have not read. I know, it's asking alot since I've ready so much . Not into Sci-Fi, History, Westerns. Thanks in advance! I am desperate because I can't find much that I haven' already read.

Anyone know any inventions that were invented during the time of the Civil War? or maybe a few years before or at least around that time. Any inventions that improved technology, no weapons unless they really made a difference.

Thanks.

On America's next top Model, a show on TV, they take pictures of average girls and make them look amazing with effects you would find in high profile product adds.

Does anyone know where i can find something that can teach me how to do effects like that.
