Yard sales, thrift shops, used bookstores, etc. They are readily found in / at these types of places.

The doctor's office! :-) It's either that or look to see if anyone is offering a free issue or a free 3 month subscription. There may be free websites, but I doubt someone would go to the trouble of mailing you their magazine and not want compensation for it. Seriously, there are plenty of sites with great tips on photography, reviews of cameras, new equipment, etc. Good luck!

There are tons at schools that teach photography, such as my community college.

The library has a lot.

Free magazine subscription sites.

Search Craigslist. Sometimes people just want to get rid of stacks of magazines.
