I work for a library and our staff day is coming up. We are allowed to dress as out favorite literary character for the event. I need some ideas. For some reason, the only characters that stand out as good ones to dress for are Harry Potter and the Cat in the Hat. I would really like to dress as Holden Caulfield from the Catcher in the Rye, but am not sure if the dress would stand out.

1. What are some good famous book characters. Any ideas would help

2. What would be best to do if I dressed as Holden Caulfield?

Thanks!

Materials controlls our soul .

When physical environment changes , our view of life changes.

How correct !!!

we can say " no ,we are not so heavily influenced by material environment . our soul is pure "

But again as karl marks said " we cant escape the gravity simply denying the law of gravity."

so our free will is not so free at all.

our so called personality is heavily dependent on our inherited genes and also material environment.

whats your view on his remarks?

if you are buddists how can we break through this already prepared , dependent destiny of our being ?

on reading most of the comments in response to my previous question on the death penalty i had mentioned that i am also against prison and many had made a response to that particular comment,
so now a put up a question particularly regarding prison,

ok my reasoning is this through out the history of man we have had the tendency to fear the unknown and try to "ignore" the problem, in my opinion i dont believe in evil (however i do believe in a standard belief of what is a wrongdoing) i believe prison is a way we "ignore" our problem and we should invest some thought in to alternative solutions for example psychology.

in your opinion am i wrong with my reasoning, do you feel that we should not waste our time in such an investment or do u believe that my reasoning is correct and perhaps we should look more into the issue?

Death seems to always be looked upon in a negative way. That is understandable, in that people want to live and prolong their lives, etc.

Though if I try to look at the human condition from an objective point of view, I wonder why people don't talk about it more often. It is something that everyone has in common, and it is often a fear of people. Surely peoples' wonders and fears would be eased if the topic was discussed more often, therefore enhancing their lives.

Death seems to be an unspeakable subject. Many people feel uncomfortable discussing it, and some even seem offended when the matter is raised. Often, people will also jump to drastic conclusions - that the person raising the discussion is unhappy, suicidal, etc.

Surely it isn't bad of a person to wonder about death and want to discuss it, is it?

Would like to hear the US Presidential candidates talk about helicopter pilots (and support personnel) using their skills and training with helicopters for non-military stuff like hurricane/disaster clean-up and/or rescue or infrastructure rebuild in Middle East or anywhere they do (or have done) this. How about you?
