Star question!!
Collaboration..... everyone can not be knowledgeable on everything and it is through collaboration that we minimize the ill effects of individual ignorance...... and in the process we can also ensure specialization to raise the level of overall collective knowledge.

you can only educate someone if they are willing
besides, i have tried my very hardest to do so. but, if someone is pig headed enough they'll just tell you it's opinion no matter how much sense it makes. so education is out of the question in many cases.
just because someone is ignorant, against all popular belief, that does not mean they're a bad person.
people get so angry, but then you're not being any better than any one you accuse of being ignorant.
anyway enough of a tangent on my part.
love i guess will cure all, they say. just love and put in your two cents. one at a time
i hope that makes at least alittle sense

education is a form of learning via a "formal education" an organized way of teaching,
ignorance can never be cured but it can be reduced, education is not the only way for ignorance to be "reduced"
as said in previous answers experience is another form to reduce ignorance as it is a form of "self-learning"
there is also the concept of weather or not we are born with knowledge,
there is the theory of the "blank slate" where when we are born we are at an equal level of intelligence however i prefer to extend this thought with my theory of the "mesh frame" where there is a particular structure in our brain each unique to the individual that helps us make connections between information such that as learning a language,
in my opinion this theory has the capability of explaining intuition.

The cure for ignorance is sometimes an ideal, but in a utopia, ignorance should be cured by taking Ginko Biloba pills for improving the memory...

I believe it takes a lot to overcome ignorance. Often ignorance comes about because the person has exerienced some form of discrimination against themselves and thus retaliate by exhibiting this form of ignorance in discriminating against someone else. An example: Someone from the south is called a hillbilly or worse...they respond by being discriminate against other people that aren't from the south. I think it takes 3 things to overcome ignorance.
1) They have to experience an injustice towards themselves or a loved one that is so wrong that they stop and think about what has happened and try and figure out why.
2) One must travel and learn about other cultures and come to the realization that even though we are different in small ways, that overall as humans, we are all pretty much the same.
3) They have someone come into their life that shows them some form of love in a situation that normally there would be hatred or misunderstanding. To have someone flip all their assumptions with a single act of kindness and compassion.

1. The morning after pill. An ounce of
prevention is worth a pound of cure.
The less nuts you have born ,the
less you have to deal with.
2. Getting people out of the house
and around the world. Gaining
knowledge of other people's
realities get's a person out of
their vacuum.
