i want to make glow-in-the-dark oil paintings, is there something that i can add to the paint, or some other way to make the painting shine in the dark? i know there are some paints that are sold but i would rather prepare the paint by myself. thanks for your help.

If you can find it you could try adding phosphorus to the paint.

Apply purified linseed oil to the paint while you are painting; when the paint is already done apply retouching varnish over it. This is the classic way...now, the glow in the dark oil paint that is new... I search the Internet or I read on the tubes how to make it. Should be a glossy sandy pigment...

Its really dangerous to attempt to do that with oil paint. Especially if your using cadmium reds or yellows. Your much better off using Acryic paints for this project. YOu might want to attempt neon paint with a black light, which should also be done with acrylics. You need a lot of specialty bio-safe materials to do what your thinking

Good question! You can add phosphorus in your color or try black gesso not only to highlight the dark areas, but to make the colour stick to the canvas. Another information about painting is to though during painting. It helps you to express yourself on canvas.
