Death seems to always be looked upon in a negative way. That is understandable, in that people want to live and prolong their lives, etc.

Though if I try to look at the human condition from an objective point of view, I wonder why people don't talk about it more often. It is something that everyone has in common, and it is often a fear of people. Surely peoples' wonders and fears would be eased if the topic was discussed more often, therefore enhancing their lives.

Death seems to be an unspeakable subject. Many people feel uncomfortable discussing it, and some even seem offended when the matter is raised. Often, people will also jump to drastic conclusions - that the person raising the discussion is unhappy, suicidal, etc.

Surely it isn't bad of a person to wonder about death and want to discuss it, is it?

Well, it's not a popular topic. It's a tad morbid. Most people don't want to think about it. People who seem obsessed with it would scare most people.

My parents kept getting calls about pre-arranging their funeral services/cremation. My mom finally reluctantly agree to have a woman come by the house to discuss options & get a free, no-obligation quote. Every package she mentioned was too expensive. (My mom is a bargain hunter in everything & let's face it, death is expensive. Have you seen the price of caskets? Man, I can't afford to die!) After wasting a few hours with my parents, the frustrated death dealer stormed out saying "Fine! When you pass away you can just put your ashes in a grocery store bag!!!"

Personally I'd like my ashes scattered in Algonquin, but there may be bylaws against such things...

Anyway, the point is, we know we're mortal, but we like to imagine ourselves immortal. We don't want to think about death, we don't want to make wills or funeral arrangements. We don't want to think about the day when it will come. We never know when. Some people (with a terminal illness) that know that death is imminent develop a new appreciation for life & start to live each day to the fullest. Live each day like it was your last. We become too complacent when we think that there is a limitless supply of days. But we never know when our day will come...

Any thing which is born, has to die one day. It may be humans, animals, insects, even earth, our Sun, Solar system, galaxies, nothing is spared. Only difference is the time between birth and death. Micro organisms live for couple of minutes, a human may live for 100 years, a tortoise can for 250 years, our Earth may be couple of thousand years, for sun it may live for some million years.

The end is always anticipated, I mean death. It is a known fact. Even people who fears talking about death are also aware of this Universal truth. How come it is an unspeakable word ? . It is only a fear psychosis. or they pretend like that..

Truth is always a truth, it remains so. If they are uncomfortable then they do not wish to die, and wants to live for ever, They know the reality, but does not want to accept it, hence they try to mark the person, who rises the subject, as an insane, unhappy, person with suicidal syndrome etc.,

There is no point in arguing with such people. It is literally waste of time. Leave them as they are, let them enjoy, their remaining life with their pseudo philosophy.

I help out in a grief support group at my church. The one common problem people have going through the grieving process is that they have a hard time speaking to the people around them. Our society does not handle death as well as some others. We have become a disposable society expecting to enjoy what we have until it no longer functions at which point we throw it away and move on to something new. When someone close to us dies, we therefore don't understand why we can't deal with that loss and most of our friends and family certainly aren't prepared to dwell on your loss for very long. They want to move on and they want you to move on too.

people are afraid of the unknown. what do you do when you die? none but the dead know, we as humans only have what we can belive. and what is a belif? merly a state of the mind to comfort you, it has no real answers, it only has it's questions that are true.

if there is life, why would people want to leave it, only when there is pain for everyone left behind for everyone you loved?
no one knows if the after life is good or bad, or if there is even life after death, and if there is death after life, is there an after death of the after life?

death is challenged by many questions, after all, what is death?

You cannot separate life from death. They come as a package, and a lot of people are afraid because they do not know what to expect.
