China is the oldest surviving ancient civ.

The chinese invented many important discoveries that we still use today. Look at this list of stuff they invented

The Chinese also had their OWN language. Its not a derivative or stolen like ours....English from Latin. The Chinese is the language that all its neighbor stole from...ex: korean Japanese. There's only a few languages that are original...Chinese is one of them.

China was the world power from the BC era allllllllllllll the way to the opium war. During the Ming dynasty...the chinese built junk ships that dwarfed the european battleships. Zheng He...is the name...i believe could have changed history as we know if only he attacked Europe.

The Chinese Cuisine is the best. It has THE most varieity and they cook stuff in so many ways. It will take 5 years to try everything on the menu

We keep saying that overpopulation is the cause of global warming. But all our remedial measures are aimed at cutting down carbon emissions, saving energy, reducing fossil fuel consumption, etc. None of the governments are really serious about family planning measures. Is it that we are afraid to confront overpopulation, the root cause face to face? Give your opinion.

In talking to a friend the other day, the question of whether or not "soulmates" are for real or not came to mine. He thinks we make our own fate. I say the two tend to go hand in hand. Your thoughts....???

Original value and original plan in Genesis One and Two does not get the attention that the Fall of Man in Genesis Three gets. So are we apt to ignore and belittle the ORIGINAL PLAN of God? Does a parent (Heavenly Father) intend originally to create a child for pain and frustration, or for joy. Religion has overemphasized Genesis 3?

I just bought a violin and I want to learn to play it (before you suggest it, i will be taking lessons :-P). I've been playing around with it, but it won't make a clear note. It sounds breathy when I run the bow across a string. I did rosin the bow, so I don't know what's wrong!

Can a digital computer actually think? That is to say: Is instantiating or implementing the right computer program with the right inputs and outputs, sufficient for, or constitutive of, thinking? And to this question, unlike its predecessors, the answer is clearly "no" for the reason that we have spelled out, namely, the computer program is defined purely syntactically

Socrates said something along the lines of true knowledge is in knowing that you know nothing. Is this statement true, or are there things we do "know" such as knowing that we percieve.

It seems to me that the things that are meant to be happen for us and things that we try to make happen just don't work.

I have many examples, what you guys say?

I have questions too about premonitions/precognitions. I have daily visions a *picture* in my minds eye of someone I know or a room and later on that day by no control of my own I find myself in that place. or that person shows up, or calls. I forget the *vision* til I find myself exactly as I SAW its not deja vu-- its more like, in my opinion, a daily script of our day is mapped out and somehow maybe a glitch, or our guardian angel or guide allows some information *slip*come through to warn us to watch and perhaps trust and believe there is some one really watching out for us. I am training myself now to keep a journal and really not take simple little thoughts or visions as pure nothing. If there is anyone thats following what Im trying to describe ,I'd be so interested to share more also. And can we change what we see..if we don't like it.

Obviously, I don't want to SCRATCH at the surface to see if that would reveal clear glass underneath. The pontil is polished, and I would think the polishing would reveal clear glass if it were flashed. However, there is nothing but red. Please tell me if there is a definitive way WITHOUT harming the glass.

I'm at the stage where I'd like to get my tree somewhere permanent. It's on Genes Reunited but their programme is a bit of a pain. I've tried downloading Personal Ancestral File from the Church of Latter Day Saints but I don't like how their printouts abbreviate things nonsensically and how I can't see an overall picture of my tree.
Is there any other good software which is ideally free, or at least reasonably cheap? I'm not professional enough to bother with family tree maker, I just want to have this for posterity.
